Who is Lynne Godfrey?

Lynne, wife, mother, trained primary school teacher and now Ordained Local Minister.

When Lynne was ordained in 2016 this is what she wrote about her call to ordination.

LYNNE GODFREY to be Assistant Curate (OLM SSM) in the Benefice of St Peter Chippenham When I signed up for a course, ‘Exploring Christianity’, four years ago I never imagined that it would lead me into ordained ministry. I began to realise early on in the course that God’s calling was on my life in a very specific way and my initial reaction was to resist. God couldn’t possibly want me – what do I have to offer to ordained ministry. But with the discernment and encouragement of others here I am in obedience to him, trusting him, in all my inadequacy because it’s about what God can do in me and through me if I let him. It’s been a challenging but exciting journey so far and I am privileged to have enjoyed the love and support of my family, friends and my sending church along the way. I’m looking forward, somewhat apprehensively, to what God has in store as we continue the journey together!
